In which I announce the art contest :3

I am proud to announce the first ever Nightside Art Contest! (*tosses confetti and releases balloons*)

Read the details and rules carefully!! Some things have been changed. I'll now allow literature-based entries and I've extended the deadline to September 27, 2010.

There will be two categories to enter.
A) The Day Job- You can use characters from any fandom or even your OCs but it must involve the characters in some sort of occupation. Be creative!! (And provide links to fandoms or OCs we are not familiar with)
B) Visions of the Nightside- This is a category where you can use any theme you wish but you must use my OCs as seen in my Original Art folder in the gallery. Yes you can use my AQW/DF/MQ characters for this.
You can use any medium: digital or traditional art, photography or literature.

Depending on entry numbers there may be fewer or more prizes.

If anyone wants to donate more prizes send me a note; features, gift art, subs they’re all welcome :3
And people who advertise the contest will receive an art feature of up to 9 works from their gallery.

How to enter:
1. Create your art/ write your piece
2. Post it to dA
3. Send me a note with a link to your art/written piece
4. me if you haven’t already for updates
5. ???????
6. Profit!!

The contest will run from Monday April 19th until Wednesday June 30th Monday September 27th unless there are less than 20 entries in which case it will run until there are 20 entries (with at least 4 in each category because it's no fun having just one piece in a category).

THE RULES!!

1) It must be your own work. You must be able to show your work in progress on request.
i) Digital work- no bases unless they’re your own. Stock images are ok for backgrounds as long as you give credit to the image owner.
ii) Literature- keep your draft version(s) handy.

2) Art/written work must be created and uploaded between 19/4/10 and 27/9/10.
i) The exception to this is if there are fewer than 20 entries, in which case the contest will run until there are 20 entries.

3) One entry per category. Maximum two entries per person.
i) If you enter a piece that could fit in both categories, you must choose only one category to enter that piece into.
ii) Contestants can withdraw entries and replace them with a new entry up to a week before the contest ends.

4) Mature content is okay.
i) Just no gore, scat, anything highly offensive etc.

5) Judges decision is final.
i) Judging will be based on adherence to the theme(s) and the quality and effort put into the artwork/written piece not because the entry involves a fandom that the judges like/dislike.
